Cyclists Rescue A Pitbull Stranded In A Dangerous Trap On A Bridge

True heroes exist. They are ordinary people who decide to help those in need without thinking twice.

Mo, the Pit Bull, was waiting for her heroes when she was left stranded on the concrete beam of a bridge. Time passed, and yet she didn’t lose hope that she would eventually be saved.

Let’s follow her story and her rescue mission.

Facing Immediate Danger

Every Monday, the cycling group, Smash Bros Plus One, went on a biking trip around Fort North, Texas. On May 21st, in 2022, they were on their way to Dallas.

Thirty minutes into their ride, as they were approaching a bridge, they saw a woman. She was signaling them to stop. She kept saying that there was a dog that needed their help.

The cyclists immediately stopped, got off their bikes, and followed the woman. The scene that they witnessed left them deeply worried and sad. On a bridge support beam, 15 to 20 feet off the ground, they

“There’s no way she could have gotten there herself and there’s no way she could have gotten out herself. The look on her face was despair,” said Abby Robinson, the only woman in the cycling group.

The dog wasn’t moving at all. She would sometimes lift her gaze toward the cyclists. Her brown eyes were filled with fear and despair. It seemed as if she was letting them know that she was putting all her trust in them.

The cyclists were well-aware that they were her only hope and they continued brainstorming the best way to help her.

At the same time, they were waving down other drivers. One of the drivers who stopped was a handyman. Luckily, he had a ladder that the cyclists needed.

A Sigh Of Relief

One of the cyclists, Chris Williamson, descended the ladder and sat next to the dog. He talked to her and even laid next to her to show her that he was a friend. He succeeded in winning her over, and she became relaxed and decided to trust him.

Williamson took her in his arms and handed her to the people above him.

The other cyclists were relieved to cradle her and they sat with her.

As soon as she was lifted to safety, the pooch felt completely relaxed. These humans didn’t let her down. Just by looking at her loving eyes, her rescuers could see how grateful and appreciative she was.

She was thirsty and hungry. Nobody knew how much time she spent waiting for help. Robinson said that the pooch probably had babies recently.

Animal Control was called to the site. After they scanned her, they found out that she didn’t have a microchip. Since the cyclists knew that shelters were overcrowded, they called Saving Hope Rescue, and they took her.

The cyclists named her Moriah Wilson in honor of the professional biker who was murdered in May 2022.

Soon, the rescue found a foster family for Mo. Her rescuers visited her and were glad to see that she was doing well.

We’re very grateful to all the people who participated in rescuing her that day. You are our heroes. We’re sure that Mo stole the hearts of her forever family as soon as they saw her gentle brown eyes.
