Commissioned by Georges Dupré de Saint Maur, a distinguished figure who served as the general councilor of the canton of La Ferté-Saint-Aubin from 1877 to 1889 and as the mayor of Ligny-le-Ribault from 1878 to 1902, the château emerged from the dreams and aspirations of a bygone era. In 1923, a new chapter in the château’s saga began when it found itself under the ownership of the illustrious Poniatowski family.
