6. Solved – Consensus is storage for oven trays/baking trays and other larger kitchen items like cutting boards. The dinning room is next door and I believe there was a movable cart kept below this. Thanks for the input!For those interested I will get some more photos of the property and it’s quirks as well as history as and when I find it.

8. If something hard was in there, I’d expect to see drag marks on the base and on the dowels. You said they weren’t sturdy?Maybe stacks of rolled table linen? And/or serviettes?
9. Wine rack of some sort? I think the spacing is awful for cutting boards or baking sheets, but it looks like it could fit bottles of wine pretty well. Whats on the other side of the wall, above it? -edit–NVM I realized thats a cabinet not a wall.
10. Can’t get a feel for the size of it but if it was in my kitchen I’d store sheet pans and baking pans there.
11. Shot in the dark but most seem to be right with the dishes aspect. Judging by the pics, underneath would be a cart and in that dowel space would be plates stacked. The dowels kept them from toppling over. Tilt the plate to get it in and tilt flat to stack.Be nice to get more details on this house. Guessing it’s a large place and possibly it either entertained large parties or was ran as a bed and breakfast, or something that serviced large groups. (Not really typical you have a fire alarm bell and that red light above the doorway in the second pic for a residential house, hence my line of logic above.)Any more details you have would be great. Pics would be better as this house sounds pretty awesome and entertaining to look at. (2 cellars I read in another reply. Cool.)

14. Not entirely sure, but I would stack wine bottles in it. I believe that if it were for pans and such, there would be a way to conceal it. Most people don’t want to store their baking sheets and flat pans in plain view.
